I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. I did my undergraduate studies at The College of Mount St Joseph and apologetics and theological work at Liberty University. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Katz and Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; along with many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results - inside and out!

Happy Holidays!

As we start off a new week…. in a new month… in a new season, it can be a challenge not to be overwhelmed by all of the push and rush the holidays bring. Booking travel, meeting deadlines, not to mention the shopping and shipping and sending the cards –

It can be fun, it can be exhilerating, it can be exhausting!

Challenge for the day : Start off with a “No List” list. Now I am not telling you to throw out your to do list. I am simply suggesting you start off the day with boundaries. Take a moment to set a tone of order, sanity and (dare I say), peace in what can become an otherwise maddening pace.

Example:

  • No texting, e-mailing (reading or answering), talking (except to a real live lunch date!) during meals.
  • No humbugging, complaining, kvetching, or one finger salutes.
  • No multi-tasking!
  • No adding to today’s “To-do list”. If its not a matter of life and death it can go on tomorrow’s!
  • No cheating on the “No List”!

 

Now of course your list may be different but the point is to make one. Make it plain. You know when and where you are pushing the envelope. (and if you don’t, this is a good opportunity to reflect). Pay attention to when your shoulders hunch, breathing speeds up or gets shallow, heart races or face flushes. Drop your chin, your shoulders and breathe deep and say it with me : No.

I know it seems like a no brainer, but if you write it down and remind yourself of it when ever you feel the urge to “get it all done” by any means neccessary. I promise you the results will be worth it!
